Indoor Soccer Rules
1. Ball
- Ball is size 5.
- U12 and below - Ball is size 4.
2. Number of players & rosters
- All players must be registered and on the roster prior to playing.
- If a team is short players and would like to add a non-roster player in order to avoid forfeit, that player must be a current member, with paid membership and completed waiver, and be approved by the opposing team prior to the start of the game.
- Five (5) players plus a goalie on the field at any time.
- U10 and below - Six (6) players plus a goalie on the field at any time.
- Open (U10 & U19 House League) no female player requirements.
- Coed play requires at least two (2) women on the field at all times.
- Teams may have up to eighteen (18) registered players on the roster.
- No additions to competitive (leagues with playoffs) team rosters after game eight (8).
3. Substitutions & game duration
- Unlimited substitutions made on the fly.
- U12 and below - Substitutions made during a break in play and with permission of referee.
- Adult games consist of two 20 minute halfs.
- U12 and below games consist of two 20 minute halfs with sustitution breaks approximately every 4 minutes.
- High school, U13-U19 games consist of 42 continuous minutes.
4. Players equipment
- Mandatory shin pads, stockings and outdoor cleats (preferred) or indoor shoes.
- Eyewear must be protective quality and designed for active sport.
5. Ball out of play
- Ball is out of play when it has wholly crossed the line on the ground or in the air.
- Ball is out of play if it makes contact with the dome or netting above the field.
6. Ball in play
- Ball must be returned to play from the nearest point to where it left the field.
- Ball must be stationary when it is put back into play.
- Opposing players must be at least 3 meters from the stationary ball.
- All kicks are indirect.
7. Penalty Kick
- Penalty kick is taken from 8 meters from the goal line.
- All players must be 3 meters back from the the ball.
- Goal keeper must be stationary on the goal line at the time when the ball moves.

9. Times Penalties
- Penalty kick is taken from the centre spot without obstruction of the opposing team.
10. Yellow Card Penalties
- Offending player must leave field and team must play short for two minutes. Play is restarted at the referees discretion.
11. Red Card Penalties
- Offending player must leave vicinity of field and team must play short for five minutes. Play is restarted at the referees discretion.
- Second sliding tackle is a Red Card offense.
- Players shown a Red Card are fined $50 and miss at least one (1) game.
- Tournament - Players receiving a Red Card miss the next game.
12. Duration of the Game
- Game consists of two 20 minute halves.
- U17 and below - Game consists of one 42 minute period.
- U10 and below - Game consists of two 20 minute halves with referee stop time approximately every 4 minutes for substitutions.
- clock starts on time.
- Tournament - games are 25min straight time and last 1min is stop time.
13. Defaults
- Default games are recorded as 1-0
- Tournament - default games are recorded as 3-0
14. Tournament Pool Ties
- head to head result
- greater goals for
- lesser goals against
- coin toss
15. League Game Ties
- 3 penalty kicks (any player on the roster may kick)
- single kicks (all players must kick)
16. Tournament Game Ties
- 5 minute sudden death overtime
- best of 5 penalty kicks (any 5 players may kick)
- single kicks (all players on shorter roster must kick, then any player may kick again)
